Wedding Catering at The Getaway on Ranger Creek
The Getaway on Ranger Creek, a glamping campground and wedding venue on eighteen private acres in Coalmont, lets couples bring the caterer or food truck of their choice. The truck is based right here on The Getaway’s property, so there is no drive at all. We cook at the back parking area, a short walk from the open area where receptions are held, and dinner goes from the truck to your guests hot.

The venue, in short
- Weddings of up to 50 guests, with a two-night buyout of the whole property, so the people closest to you sleep where the wedding is.
- The ceremony is at a covered arbor in the back meadow, with built-in bench seating for 50.
- The reception is in a cleared area central to the accommodations, in the open or under a rented tent.
- Up to ten 8-foot tables and 40 chairs come with the wedding weekend.
How we cater a Getaway wedding
At 50 guests, either way we serve suits the reception. The Loaded Bar is a buffet line with our staff serving, and Loaded Stations builds each plate in front of the guest. The food is your choice: a pasta bar, a loaded baked potato bar, or an Italian menu. Our lines go just as fast as any normal buffet, and the buffet stays open afterward for seconds. When you send an inquiry, we'll give you an estimate of how long it will take to serve your guests.
Two nights on the property also means we can cater every meal while you are there, or only the ones you want. Some couples hold a rehearsal dinner or a welcome night on the first evening and marry on the second. With everyone sleeping on site, we can set out breakfast the morning of the wedding, the wedding dinner itself, and breakfast or a lunch spread the day after.
What we need at the reception
Very little. We are self contained for catering, with nothing to plug in and nothing to hook up. The trailer is 22 feet long, towed by a full-size van, and it parks in the back parking area, close to the reception area. For serving we need one 8-foot table for every two serving points, with three feet clear behind it for our staff, and those can come from the tables included with your weekend.
Everything we bring leaves with us, gray water and garbage included. We are licensed and insured, and The Getaway is already named as an additional insured on our policy.
