Asking for a catering quote
Four things get you a real number instead of a range:
- The date.
- The town, or the venue if you have booked one.
- Roughly how many people. An estimate is fine this early.
- What time you want food going out.
That last one matters more than people expect. Serving at 6:30 for a hundred guests is a different job from a buffet that opens whenever the speeches finish, and the answer changes with it. What each of the three service formats involves is on the catering page.
Most dates are booked well ahead, so early is better. If your event is a week or two away, call anyway. Whether a twenty-guest event works comes down to where the truck already is that day. It is always worth asking.
Allergies and dietary restrictions
Call rather than email if someone at your event has a serious allergy. We cook in a small space where a lot of ingredients share it, and the honest answer depends on which allergy and which dish. That is a conversation, not a checkbox, and we would rather have it properly than send you a confirmation that turns out to be wrong on the day.
Finding the truck this week
Public stops change week to week and are listed on the schedule as soon as they are set. New dates also go up on Facebook. You do not need to contact us to come to one. Turn up.
Booking us for a fair or festival
Organizers should read how we work fairs and festivals first. It lists the five things we will ask you, which saves a round of email, and it says what the trailer needs from your site.
Still deciding
The general questions and the catering questions cover most of what comes up before anyone picks up a phone, and the planning guides go deeper on each kind of event.
